So when thinking of things to make for my dorm room for this fall I instantly thought of this cork board idea. I love the mint color and the white trim! It is pretty simple to do and can be done cheaply! I picked this cork board up at a yard sale for only 25 cents! It had fabric over it so I took it off which revealed a perfectly good cork board! The paint it just the dollar acrylic paint you can get at wally world.
Start by taking blue painters tape and taping it on the cork board all around the edges so you can paint the trim without getting white paint on the cork.
You paint the trim, let it dry, and repeat. I did about 3 to 4 coats. After you are satisfied with the trim and it is dry you can take the painters tape off and start on the chevron.
Just start on either the top or the bottom and work your way up or down. You can make the angle of the chevron stripes to your preference. This is actually the trickiest part so it might take a little longer than you expected.
Once the chevron stripes is to your liking you can start painting! I just used those cheapo sponge brushes. I did about 3 coats on the stripes
Once the paint is dry you can remove the tape and you have your finished product!
